Lisa D. T. Rice

Political Strategist & Speaker

Lisa is a political strategist, passionate about reform and political innovation.She is active in bringing productive change to U.S. politics. An independent, Lisa advocates for a stronger American democracy rooted in active participation by a plurality of citizens and loosening the grip of the two-party duopoly. Lisa joined the Unite America board of directors in 2017.

With extensive political management experience as a political action committee (PAC) director in the corporate and trade association sectors, Lisa is a Federal campaign finance expert. Lisa is known nationally as a cancer patient advocate, women’s leadership mentor, and public speaker. She is an influential advocate for multiple causes, including policy reform in cancer care, women’s leadership and empowerment, and political reform.

An alumna of all-women’s Newcomb College, Lisa is the president of the Newcomb Alumnae Association board of directors, representing 30,000 women undergraduates of Newcomb College and Tulane University globally. She is also a member of the National Coalition for Cancer Survivorship (NCCS) board of directors.

Lisa holds a S.M. degree in Management from the MIT Sloan School. She has a B.A. degree from the Newcomb College of Tulane University. A native Washingtonian, she lives in the District of Columbia with her husband, Tom Thompson.  Her son, Thomas Lynch, is also a graduate of Tulane University and teaches in the DC public school system.
